As an organization, The Thurgood Marshall Law Society will occasionally find cause or the need to speak out forcibly on various issues which have an impact either on the legal community or the community-at-large and it's interactions with the justice system. And it is constantly in mind that there is a strong tendancy in the media to either mis-state or take out of context what has actually been said.
It is with these things in mind that we provide the full-text version of all media statements made by, or on behalf of, the Thurgood Marshall Law Society, Inc.
We, the people. It is a very eloquent beginning. But when that document was completed on the seventeenth of September in 1787 I was not included in that We, the people. I felt somehow for many years that George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, just left me out by mistake. But through the process of amendment, interpretation and court decision I have finally been included in We, the people.
